What Is It?

BMConverter is a simple program to take all your Opera bookmarks and convert them to regular NetPositive (read: BeOS) bookmarks. It is a command line app, so you will have to launch it from Terminal. It is quite fast as well.

Installing

Just copy the binary ("BMConverter") to the link in the unzipped folder (which points to /boot/home/config/bin). That's right, nothing fancy :).

How To Use It

BMConverter is quite simple to use. Just do the following: Let's take a look at what I did.

At first, I just typed "BMConverter", therefore the program gave me the syntax to use. Then I typed in the next command. Notice that I put quotes around a path that has a space in it. And voila! I now have a folder on my desktop that has all my Opera bookmarks. BMConverter even goes so far as to keep the same directory structure as the menus in Opera. Now, let's say that I updated some of my Opera bookmarks and then ran BMConverter to the same directory. What will happen? Well take a look.

As you can see, BMConverter prompts you before overwriting your bookmarks. To overwrite a single bookmark, just type a y. To skip a bookmark and leave it intact without overwriting it, type an n. Or to overwrite all the bookmarks without prompting, type an a. That's all there is to it. Enjoy!

Support

If an error occurs or BMConverter crashes, feel free to contact me at vitaliy@magep.com. Please send a description of evertying you typed/did and a stack crawl (type "sc" in the debugger). I will try get back to you as soon as possible and may even send you a binary that prints all kinds of wonderful text to the screen :).Thank you.
