Timelog

Introduction

Timelog sits in a corner of your screen and records the time you spend working on different projects. An invaluable tool for people that are paid by the hour working on the BeOS or simply want to survey their own working behaviour.

Things to be aware of

  • You can assign the same logfile to different projects, but you wont be able to figure which entry belonged to which project.
  • It can be nice to have Timelog in you user bootscript. Just add the full path to the Timelog executable to your /boot/home/config/boot/UserBootscript.
  • Timelog automatically switches to (idle) when you dont move your mouse for half an hour. Times are recorded as the last time you used it (Project is stopped "half an hour ago").
  • If you quit Timelog with a project running, it isnt stopped. Instead, if you restart Timelog within less than 5 minutes, it will automatically be continued. If you dont start Timelog for over 6 hours, it will automatically be stopped. If you restart Timelog within more than 5 minutes but less than 6 hours, you will be asked wether you have been working on the project for that period of time.
