BeFolio
Tutorial

A sample portfolio has been provided to help familiarize you with the program. Feel free to play with it as much as you like. It can be safely deleted when it is no longer needed.

To get started, you need to create a portfolio, then you add investments to it. Please note that the program will track any number of portfolios, each with any number of investments.

Step 1
To create a portfolio, choose Portfolio | Add from the main menu. Enter the portfolio name when prompted and press the OK button when done. Your new portfolio should be listed in the list box at the upper left corner of the main window. Select it if it is not already selected

Step 2
To add an investment, choose Investment | Add from the main menu or press the Add button. A window will appear which allows you to enter your investment information. The Ticker is the unique alphabetic combination assigned to your investment (e.g., BEOS, TWCUX). You will need to fill in this field if you will want the program to retrieve price information off the Internet. Also, the Shares and Price fields are necessary for calculating your investment and portfolio value. Press the OK button when done.

Step 3
Enter the information for your other investments. When you have entered all your data, press the Charts button to view the many charts that can be automatically generated from your data.

Step 4
If you have an internet access, establish it by connecting to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the usual way, then click the Update prices button. Your portfolio will be updated with the latest share price information.

That's it. We hope you find this program to be extremely powerful, but also extremely simple to use.
