Introduction
Description
Bookmobile is a floating toolbar app that allows you to easily launch and create bookmarks for use with either Net Positive or Opera. The bookmarks can be
launched by merely pressing two numbers relating to the bookmark's location in one of ten slots inside ten folders. For example, the 5th bookmark inside the
7th folder can be launched merely by pressing "57" on the numeric keypad! Bookmobile uses standard BeOS bookmarks, along with keywords, (which can be
added when the bookmark is first saved, unlike Net Positive). A form is provided for adding the bookmarks, or existing bookmarks can be dragged and dropped
into one of Bookmobile's ten folders.
Version History
Version 1.5 - December 29, 2001
- Fixed a bug in the menus that made the title items be a trigger point. (Example:
if you had a folder name "1 - Name", the item corresponding to that number in that
folder would not be accessable by pressing "1" on the keyboard.)
- Totally rewrote the file monitoring code so as to be much faster and consume
less CPU cycles.
- Fixed the menus so that you can now access the items using the numeric keypad
when NUMLOCKS is off.
- Changed the keyboard handling code so that you can use the left AND the right
shift, control and alt keys to activate the window. Also, you can do any
combination of left and right keys (I.E.: left alt + right control + left shift
activates the window as well).
- Now when navigating the menus, you can use the "/" key on the keypad to close
the menu as well as the "ESC" key.
- I've rewritten the input handling code to do the following: As you may
notice, there is a new sub menu under the "Settings" menu. It's called "Hot Key".
You can set any combination of keys to create a large change of keys. Let's say
you choose ALT and SHIFT as the hot key. Now make sure the Bookmobile menu
is not active and press both the ALT and SHIFT keys together. Next choose
the folder contains the item you want to launch on the numeric keypad (IE:
folder "0" contains your item, so press "0" on the keypad). Last press
another key on the keypad to launch that item (IE: item "5", press the 5 key).
This will launch the sixth item on the first menu (numbering starts from "0").
Now, if you choose the last item in the hot key submenu, be aware of how it works
with more than one key selected. Let's say you have ALT and the "Delete Key On
Numeric Keypad" selected as the hot key. To make it work, first press and release
the ALT key. Then press and release the DEL key on the numeric keypad. Now put in
the folder and item numbers. The DEL key gives this launching item a little twist.
But if the DEL key is used as the only hot key, you just press it and the folder
and item keys. NOTE: Do not set ALT+CTRL+SHIFT as the hot key. This is still
the window activation sequence.
