Rar Settings

Zip Settings

  • Rar path : path to the Rar executable, if you put it in one of the standard search paths, such as /boot/home/config/bin/, you can just type in the name of the application.
  • The compression level can be set to values ranging from 1 to 5, the default value is 3.
Select 1 for the fastest compression level(but poor compression ratio) up to 5 for the best compression(but slower compression times). It's recommended to always use level 5, as it is fast enough on all modern machines.
Archive attributes saves BeOS attributes in the archive, it's recommended to keep this option on if you plan to use the generated archives on BeOS machines.
Extract attributes restores BeOS attributes from the archive; you should generally keep this option on.
  • Cancel : Discards changes and closes the window.
  • Save as Default : Saves the current settings as the default settings for Rar and closes the window. All new archives of this type will use these settings by default.
  • Save : Saves current settings and closes the window.
