Troubleshooting

Most applications please the user with a quick install and start
and then he can begin using/testing/debugging the app.
For FTP-FS the situation is a little bit different. It's not just
itself, but it's also dependent on the ftp-server and filesystem
running on the computer to mount from.
If another computer (eg Amiga, Mac) or another PC-OS (eg. OS/2,
Win2000) is not available or a ftp-server-software unknown to the
author, only the user, who wants to use it, can help, if the first
tries fail and he wants the author to add/change something.
This doesn't mean, a simple "my Miggy with MiggyFTPd 47.11 can't
be mounted" can motivate the author to get into successfull action.
More information is needed to enable him to work into the right
direction.
At first the user should check the connection
to enshure, that FTP itself works.
On failure, it might be, that the used BeOS-Client has a problem
to change to a folder/volume on the server, so have a quick view
at the overview to BeOS-Clients
and install/try one of those, who promise most success.
If even the shell-tool "ftp" failes, something might be wrong
with the network on the users BeOS-installation and it might
be a good idea to have a look at the following more detailed
topic.
